About
Dr. Rouhollah D. Farahani is a Research Associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnique Montreal. Dr. Farahani, with a PhD degree obtained from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Polytechnique Montreal, is the project manager of the FACMO2 project in collaboration with Safran Group and Dyze design. He has expertise in advanced additive manufacturing of composite materials for aerospace industry. Past contributions include the development of multifunctional materials (e.g., carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastics, abradable thermosets, and electrically conductive materials) for advanced composites manufacturing processes (e.g., six-axis non-planar AM, multi-material multi-process AM, freeform printing, thermoforming, induction welding) mainly for aerospace applications. Dr. Farahani worked or is working on many collaborative research projects with partners such as Safran Group, Bombardier Aerospace, Bell Textron Canada, Dyze Design, Solaxis Ingenious Manufacturing, Mëkanic, and National Research Council Canada (NRC).
