About
Josua Garon studied mechanical engineering at Ecole des Ponts in France. He had the opportunity to pursue a double degree at Polytechnique Montreal, working on a Master’s project about the wrinkling instability observed on kelp blades. He has now converted his Master into a PhD and is still working with Professors Frédérick Gosselin, David Mélançon and Anne-Lise Routier (IRBV – Institute for Research in Plant Biology) on the mechanics of morphogenesis. More specifically, his research focuses on kelp blades wrinkling and leaf deployment.
